Johnny, this information can be found quickly and easily on the HUD website: www.HUD.gov. Click on "HUD Homes" and then select your state. You will be directed to the appropriate link which will give you a free listing of HUD foreclosure homes available in your area.

Carl, FHA limits for single family homes are set by each individual county. Although the current loan limit for a single family home in your county is $225,150 (as of this writing) it is subject to change according to the county and usually follows the trend of the interest rates set by Freddie Mac (www.freddiemac.com).

Brian, whenever a loan is not paid as originally agreed - whether it's a mortgage loan, car loan, personal loan, or other - it's up to the lender to decide what happens next. When you stopped making your mortgage payments you defaulted on the original contract. Unfortunately, not all lenders are willing to help borrowers who find themselves in a tough spot. Some lenders will allow borrowers to skip payments without penalty, or lower interest rates, or make any other number of concessions as long as the borrower keeps the lender informed and appears to have the potential to eventually catch up on payments. I cannot say for sure why your lender was unwilling to work with you, but the key for other people who find themselves in similar situations of being unable to make payments on loans is to immediately contact the lender before the payment is late. Additionally, borrowers with loans secured through the VA or FHA should contact these organizations for help.

Curtis, it depends on what you're actually looking for. If you are personally having difficulty with paying your mortgage then you should contact your lender or the FHA if your loan is guaranteed through them. Jimmy, thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right, and the link has been corrected.

Actually the FHA's official website is fha.gov. I think it is misleading on this website that you use fha.com as if it were the official website.
